One of the most slept on the groups of 2009. The xx are a three-piece band from Wandsworth, south west London, England, formed in 2005. The four original band members met at Elliott School, notable for alumni including Hot Chip, Burial and Four Tet. Originally a four-piece band, keyboardist Baria Qureshi left the group citing exhaustion as the reason.

Adam Goldstein was found dead at his New York City apartment on on Lafayette Street at around 5:20 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2009. He was 36 years old. Friends called the police, who along with paramedics broke into the apartment and found Goldstein's body. Sources say the cause of death may have been accidental drug overdose.[33][34] Statements by a New York law enforcement official to the Associated Press indicate that drug paraphernalia was found in the apartment, but no signs of foul play.[35] A rep for Goldstein released a statement: "Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein was found deceased this afternoon in his New York City apartment. The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear. Out of respect for his family and loved ones, please respect their privacy at this time."

A week before his death, Goldstein and longtime girlfriend Hayley Wood had broken up. On August 21, Life & Style magazine reported that Goldstein's friends took him out for dinner earlier that week in Los Angeles "because he was depressed." His friends told TMZ.com that he continued to suffer from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).[36] "He struggled with pain after the crash," a close friend of Golstein told E! News Friday. "But it seemed like he was functioning fine and never missed work."

Mr. Goldstein was seriously injured Sept. 19, in the crash of a Learjet 60 plane in Columbia, S.C. The crash killed four people and injured Travis Barker, a musician and former drummer of the group Blink-182, with whom Mr. Goldstein frequently appeared. On Friday night, throngs of friends and fans gathered outside Mr. Goldstein’s apartment building at 210 Lafayette Street. Many described him as a friendly and approachable man who was serious about his music and who always stopped to talk to fans who recognized him. Mr. Goldstein regularly posted messages on Twitter, including one final, poetic note — lyrics from a Grandmaster Flash song — that he posted on Tuesday.

The Ultimate Experience is a 1993 compilation album of songs by famous songwriter and guitarist Jimi Hendrix. It features 20 of his greatest hits with the Experience, including live renditions of "The Star Spangled Banner" and "Wild Thing". It was released with MCA Records. All songs were recorded between October 23, 1966 and July 23, 1970.

The "Experience" part of the title is most likely derived either from Hendrix's studio album, Are You Experienced?, from his band's name The Jimi Hendrix Experience, or both.
