Amanda took the world by storm with her contribution to the track “Bump” from Spank Rock’s 2006 breakout album (and Radiohead favorite) YoYoYoYoYo. Her verse is a serious exercise in lyrical acrobatics as she effortlessly runs circles around the beat. She’s just as at home collaborating with Ghostface Killah and M.I.A. as she is with Britney Spears on Eli Escobar and Doug Grayson’s remix of the hit single “Gimme More”. Her songs have appeared on the HBO series Life Support and Entourage as well as CBS television’s CSI:NY. Blank signed to Downtown Records in 2007 and is releasing her debut, I Love You, on July 14, 2009.

Synopsis:
Based on the true story of Dee Roberts, a 24 year-old African American single mother of four living in a small Texas town when she is dragged away from work one day in handcuffs, and then dumped in the women’s county prison. The local district attorney leads an extensive drug bust, sweeping her housing project with military precision. Dee soon discovers that she has been charged as a drug dealer. Even though she has no prior drug record and no drugs were found on her in the raid, she is offered a hellish choice: plead guilty and go home as a convicted felon or remain in prison, jeopardizing her custody and risking a long prison sentence. She chooses to fight the unyielding criminal justice system, risking everything in a battle that forever changes her life and the Texas justice system.

Eric Roberson is reissuing his hard to find album The Vault Vol. 1. This is the album before the popular 2004 released The Vault, Vol. 1.5. The Vault 1.0 featuring 11 Erro penned tracks and production from Osunlade and Redhead Kingpin among others quickly became a collector’s item. He discontinued it after selling several songs from the album to other artists including a favorite song of mine, Hold On, which Dwele released on his “Subject” album.

Excellent Gentlemen plays danceable, vocal soul r&b music. Think '70s block parties and the foundations of golden-age hip-hop records. Their adopted home of Portland, OR has welcomed with open arms the injection of real live dance party music played by real live musicians.
